So we have four couples that are planning a trip to the mountains for new years. Problem is the girls have never been in the mountains riding and would like to stick to trail riding while the boys are looking for good mountain riding and high marking etc.

Anyone know of a good place that might have both?

I just checked glacier house in revy and its booked for all of new years for the large chalets, Nelson lodge has some stuff available but I cant find any reviews on it.

What about tumbler ridge? Any suggestions on a good place to stay that has a chalet or lodge with a hot tub?

Crownest pass is a good all around area for every skill of rider. A couple of years ago we took the girls down there. None of the girls where ever in the mountains before. They had a blast we rode trails and still had found places where the boys can still play and the the girls and watch us.
We stayed at the Inn on the Border, it was very good, excellent food, great people and you can ride right from the door step.

In mcbride. you can go up renshaw and there is lots of area around the cabin that the woman could ride and also see some awesome views. And the guys got lots of gotridin that they can do right there also. There are some excellent bed nd breakfast here that have hot tubs. Try and see if mountain haven bed and breakfast has any room left. they are really nice people and a really nice place.

Valemount will also hold what you are looking for.

The group can warm up on the Westridge Trail and then ride into clemina where all levels can find suitable terrain and they can even watch you get a little crazy if you like as all levels can make it to the alpine.

Call me anytime with questions at 250-566-4817

Is it winter yet ?

Quickclicker are these ladies absolutely green rookies? I live near Tumbler and yes they have pretty good riding for both you and the ladies, but you might consider Powder King.
We do exactly what you are talking about every winter. We rent a cabin right on the ski hill and sled right from there or haul your machine for 10 minutes for some of the best mountain riding up here. The ladies can ride the pipeline or powerline and even go up to the alpine on the Bijoux trail. There are many areas to ride right from the hill. There is also the ski hill, that gets about 40 feet of pow a year, if anybody skis or boards.
The website is www.Powderking.com then click on "accomodations" then scroll down this page to "Other off hill accomodations" then click on "Azu Creek B & B". This is where you will find most of the cabins for rent at the hill.
If you're gonna go there better book early, especially for that time slot. If you decide to go, let me know and my wife and I could possibly come and show you guys around for a day.

Valemount is your best bet. Closest BC mountain riding from Fort Mac. Eleven hotels and six have pools and or hot tubs, thirteen B & B's of which 4 have hot tubs. From Valemount you can ride McBride and Blue River easily and all three have great riding for the ladies such as Lower Westridge, Clemina, Renshaw, Finn Creek and even around the cabin at Allan. Best Western has a great New Years bash with a live band and great food. For great dining out you can not beat the Caribou Grill.

Oh really, my boyfriend wants to stay away from blue river.. he broke his leg in 3 places there last yr so he may be hestiant to go back..lol

The girls found a really nice place to stay in tumbler ridge, and the hotel said there's lots of trails for us to ride in and they also have dog sledding and snow shoeing if we get bored of riding and want to try something else.

i may check out valemont tho.. have nothing booked yet!

hahah i figured that comment was coming... well the boys wouldnt but us girls might after digging ourselves and our sleds out of the snow.. a million times for being stuck lol

So apparently tumbler ridge is dead at new years so im re-considering valemont. It is very difficult to find information on good places and such.

You wont be dissapointed with Valemount,My wife started riding the mountains in Clemina and we have been to Golden Mcbride and a few other places and her favorite riding spot to this day is Clemina, the others are great too I just know she is more comfortable there because its really open and lots of room for her to ride safely.
