New To Oyama(Kelowna/Vernon Area)

Just looking to see who all goes riding around this area. I'm going to be moving to Oyama at the beginning of the month and i am looking for some riding partners. I'm better at building sleds then riding them at the moment but hopefully someone will give me some time to get better.

Also, where is there to ride around this area? How are the conditions looking?

I ride a 2004 F7 Firecat Sno Pro EFI with a D&D Big Bore 800, Aerocharger 53 Turbo with 2.5" Straight Pipe Exhaust, Extended to 153" with an Attack 20 Track 2.25" lug.

I've only been to the mountains once, but i'm eager to learn.

I have property in oyama but live in Winfield. There is a group of us that do mid week rides to blue lake hunters area. I ride up oyama in the summer but not much in the winter as it doesn't get that much snow. We will keep you posted on our rides

Thanks for the reply, i would like to ride along. What do you classify as Mid Week? When do you all start riding? Last year i would've been riding here in Saskatchewan by now.

Tuesday was always our day of choice. December is when we start sometime november. We also ride weekends

What are all the area's that are close to Oyama that people like to ride? Is it possible to ride from the doorstep?

Thanks, by no means am i expecting to ride the most extreme deep and steep every day. Just want to sled powder. We don't get powder where i'm from it all drifts and turns into concrete.

Just want to thank the guys who've sent me PM's, glad to know that there's a friendly view towards new folk in the area. Hope to get out to Oyama within a week. My truck is taking longer then i'd expected it to. Setting backlash and pinion depth is a lot harder then i'd thought.

I'm hoping to get out with some of the guys on here for the Tuesday ride at Hunters. I go to Graystokes quite a bit and can always show you around up there too. Pretty tame area but lots of meadows.

Hunters Range is down Mable lake rd. accessed from Enderby. Turning onto Watershed rd. is the accessto 1st staging area i believe.
