Hey everyone... i just bought a 2006 summit x 800 h.o 151. this is my very first mountain sled. i am 26 years old. when i was 16 or 17 i rode a kakwa on a 99 powder special. thats the only riding i have ever done. i have all my avalanch gear and everything. just wondering what parts of revy to stick to for my first time out? also any hits or things i should look or look out for on my sled?

Frisby is your best bet. Good choice of sled, same as I ride. It has treated me very well. Had to add a vent kit to clutch side to keeper cool. Good luck and welcome to sledding.

i have a slp package on mine... it has slp head slp full exhaust, cold air kit. pre filters on all vents, v force 3 reeds, slp skis, and a 2.25 inch track. i kinda wish it sounded a bit meaner but oh well i can change that later.

Boulder and Frisby are best bets. Boulder just got a new cabin so it a great choice

Make sure you go with someone who knows Boulder good. I've been there a few times and don't feel comfortable with the area since it's so big.

Lots of good place in Boulder that are fun for everyone, I've only been to Frisby when it was a whiteout so can't comment.

Best is to come with someone or call ahead and plan out some riding.
Myself I know Boulder like back of my hand as well as a few more challenging areas and Rod Chayko knows every area and we both always up for a ride!

If you don't have a GPS it a great idea because you can get turned around pretty easy when the weather turns bad. Best GPS is a GARMIN RINO because it is a GPS & GMRS/FRS radio built into one which will show your location to other RINO users. If you get seperated from your group you just have to call and you location will show up making it easier to find each other. Lots of rides have them and they work great.

DO NOT BUY THE GARMIN RHINO it has bee known to interfere with you beacon and your beacon signal and not be heard if you are buried and a rhino is too close to it.
