new to the world of ATV and thinking of a new quad. Kind of leaning toward one of three makes. The big three are Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki. Most of my riding will be trail. There is a chance that there will be work involved with it so a Utility ATV is in order. It won't be used in extreme cold, but it will see alot of rain and mud.

Any suggestions on what to look for to narrow the search down even further?

I've had and ridden a good number of quads, there is good and bad to all of them so instead I'll tell you what I'd get for my next quad.

#1 At least 650 or bigger, powering out climbing hills sucks, if you don't mind it, get a honda. lol (sorry honda guys)

#2 Power stearing, great for trail riding, don't get so warn out after a full day of mud and skeg.

#3 Some kind of front diff lock, 3 wheel drive sucks, ask the Honda guys about this. lol

#4 I've always been a fan of carbs but I must say EFI sure makes things easier, be it cold weather or putting mods on, alot less fussing.

As far as brands, their all good, just depends on what you want out of it. Price, power, ride, reliebility, no one quad seems to have it all.........yet.

Out of your 3 choices, i would say Yamaha is the winner, Suzuki would be second with Honda pulling up the rear. There are other good brands to look at as well like Kawasaki & Can-Am etc.
Good luck in your search.
