Not to be pessimistic, but this is the 3rd project in 5 years that has been propossed in this area to take advantage of the cheap natural gas in this area. Nauticol was a bust, Northern petrochemical is looking like it will be too, now this.

So far from what I've seen there are no commited AI companies interested in this project. O'Leary just wants to build a power plant.

Hopefully it goes, but need some more details yet.

I believe the company I work for is going to be a gas supplier to this and building a new plant right beside it at Karr.

I would assume they'll tie in to the Nova pipeline or TC to ensure in unterrupted gas service.

CNRL Gold Creek and ARC Gold Creek are probably closer than CSV Karr. Heard rumor of a another facility planned for that area too.

O'Leary doesn't build things, he sells ideas. This is a dead project unless they find both investors and customers.

Part of me thinks the timing is too coincidental, right before Trump takes office. I'm thinking he's trying to get Trump to give him a sweetheart deal to move the project to the US.

I think Shell has approval to build one there too.

Were seeing a few plants get approved proceed into design stage only to be postponed or cancelled.

Seems to be the way of midstream companies these days, by proposing a plant they "stake claim" to an area and then defer or cancel it at later date if the economics don't work.

yes. It is being proposed as fueling AI but realistically if the power is cheap enough that computing power will be used to mine crypto.
