We were planning a trip into Montana to check out the trails at Pipestone, but it looks like Montana's regulations now ban sxs use on the trails. My bike is fine, but the wives won't approve if the Rzr is limited to forest service roads. Preference is definitely for trail riding with things to see, not big on dunes or super-duper extreeem riding.

Not opposed to going into BC, but we want to try something new and have spent a bit of time exploring the Kootenays over the years so it would need to be somewhere new. Ideally within 6-7 hours of Calgary.

Anybody have any must hit places that fit, and that you don't mind sharing? Kamloops, maybe?

Hinton/Grande Cache is a great idea. I moved to Cowtown from NE BC, so I've explored the Alaska Hwy route and N BC. Always missed the part in the middle, though. Thanks.

lots of good trails and variety of terrain around Grande Cache. been going there every Sept long weekend for the last 5 years and seen maybe 10-20% of the riding in that area. getting busier around there each year as more people find it, 10 years ago you could pick your spot to camp and see hardly anyone.
