one of the best rides i have been on was go to the heart lake tower north of touchwood lake [ north of lac la biche ] there is a staging area there , drop down the hill straight east , go to the end [ about 2 km ] turn right and about 5 km into spencer lake , major mud holes , muskeg , about a 8 hour rounder , go and you will thank me , about 3 hours from north edmonton

You don't think that's a little far apart for machine size jumping your 10 yr old from a 90 to a 420, a tad extreme. my 3 cents, my 12 yr old will be moving up from his 80 griz to a 150/200, hoping its good for him.

keep a tight grip on them , my oldest went from his 90 to a 350 , worked out well , lots of one on one with them , he has been on his 90 for 4 years going on his 5th , thanks for you 3 though:d

It's all in how well they have been taught, how well they ride and listen. My son went from a grizz 125 straight to a Kodiak 350 when he was 11. I had my doubts at first but he has handled that machine better than some adults on their machines. The 420 might be a bit much still, it is very heavy, I personally would go with the 350 Kodiak with IRS. My son who is 13 now wants a 550 but he has to wait another 2 years at least. He is still smaller than most kids his age and the 550 is a big bike. Shrek, my 2 cents. Your choice though obviously.
