Just bought and installed Mountain Magic's 5 Piece vent kit for my 06 REV, well, 4 piece as I decided not to install hood vent (FOR SALE)
Love the fit, Love the look... I went out to put cover on sled cuz it started to snow a bit here, noticed snow was sitting UNDER vents... Opened panel and there was snow everywhere!!!!! Maybe I;m expecting too much out of these kits, but I thought they were supposed to keep snow out and allow air in...???

Mouintain Magic's kits look identical to XXXMODRODS, are they the same just in different packaging??? Is the screening too BIG in the Mountain Magic kits???

Thanks for input...

REMEMBER, I GOTS A REV HOOD VENT FOR SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!! 20$ and shes yours!!!!!

I don't want people to assume that I started this Thread to BASH Mountain Magic, TOYTALLY untrue...!!!!!! I just want a little more insight on the vent kits..... Do I need to add smaller screening to the inside of the panels???
Thanks guys and gals

are u sure the snow didn't blow in through another opening? I'm looking at the screen kits in your pics and I find it very hard to believe that anything other than very very very fine snow is getting through that mesh, so unless it is super fine snow, I would suspect the snow is blowing in somewhere else. The vent kits will do their job when the sled is running, that is all that matters.

and if by snow everywhere if you mean a little skiff, nothing is going to keep that out, especially if the wind is blowing even a little it will blow snow into every orifice.

Thanks for your reply...
It is coming thru vents because the snow is sitting between the screen and sitting on the remaining of the panel under the vent.... And yes it is pretty fine snow....
Sorry I'm just trying to figure stuff out as i go
With the engine running, the airflow under the hood SHOULD be enough to keep snow out?? Or is whatever that makes it thru instantly melted and is no worry whatsoever??
Thanks

I recently added large vents to mine too .. if the problem persists i would suggest buying that SLP pre filter material and adding it to your vents . which is what I'm going to do

so far have not encountered any super dry pow pow .. a little bit of wet snow seeped in but was stuck to the inside of the vent, not enough to be worrysome.

Yes - I have never found that the vents contributed to the overall amount of snow under the hood. Fine snow that gets through should melt almost immediately. What little they allow in should melt normally unless its really cold I would imagine. Most of the time its the bigger vents that let in the appreciable amount of snow. The vents willl promote air movement, don't bother with smaller mesh until you ride it in deep snow and see what you think.
