Ok I am one of the strange sledders out there. I ride with an Oxygen Helmet but i ride in the west and really only in the mountains. I got a great deal on it 3 years ago. So far it has been the best helmet for me when it comes to fogging especially since i have to wear glasses. Cant get eye surgery and tried and tried contacts with no luck.

The oxygen is a heavy big helmet though since Doo only has 2 shell sizes for every helmet they make. It is a pain to have to use the heated visor and have another cable tied to the sled but again so far its been the best.

I am thinking of trying the Exome helmet Doo makes now though. Its again a heated shield but it has a different integrated breath box like the old modular helmets back in the day. I think if it works i wouldnt have to wear the no fog mask i currently wear with the oxygen. I wish it had more ventilation as I sweat like an animal but alas no modular helmets have great ventilation.

So long story short does anyone else run a modular helmet when mountain riding?

There’s no way I could wear a modular. Without contacts you’re probably stuck with that set up. Good friend of mine I used to ride with bought goggles with lenses in them for vision. Still didn’t work very well for him. With some practice he was able to wear contacts. Then he switched to a motocross set up.

I’m a goggle fogger also. Now. I wear a downhill mountain bike helmet with lots of ventilation holes. You can literally see daylight through it. Then I wear a quality balaclava with a two dry ones in my pack. With Goggles. Keep them on as much as you can. And keep your eyebrows trimmed. Eugene Levy eyebrows hold lots of moisture which caused visors and goggles to fog. The helmet with holes stops me from head sweating. Walla, no fog problems in years.
