I don't know if it is possible or what members would think of having something that rates themselves as sellers or buyers. I have had alot of dealings with folks buying and selling over this forum and others and for the most it has been great.
I guess it would something like what ebay has.
Thoughts??

difficult to do. other sites have a buyer and seller feedback sticky. they put the seller name/buyer name at the top of the post that way you can search it. works good. just leave a little feedback from each purchase

99% of my dealings purchasing parts on here have been excellent. the ones that were less than perfect worked out, nothing I would leave negative feedback for.

One thing is powder that they don't know ya from a hole in the ground.

Giving a bank acct # out is just asking for trouble.

In the last year the scammers have some how got certified chq's - bank drafts that look 100% real and good.

My bank says they get at least 3 scamed ones a week.

Only way to know its good if Ur at the bank with the buyer , stand there and the teller hands it to ya and says its good.

Now who is going to have time ect to do this ???

Mabe a big priced one and if close enough.

It's cash only for this guy.

Possibly a number of posts mininum before your able to sell? One forum I'm on has a rule, not allowed to sell anything untill you reach 30 legitimate posts....although, on here you can post 30-6 letter posts in 60 seconds.....lol
A ratings system can be done with a separate sticky thread for sellers, good and bad..... then you can read about the good, bad, ugly.....

If a person got serious enough for it a buyer/seller feedback area could be started. Quite a few different vehicle forums I am on have them and they really aren't anything out of control. It's not just for negative either and lots of people post good things too. The one forum I am on has itrader points under your name. Then when someone buys from you or you buy from them you can rate one another. It lets people see good and bad feedback as well as how many transactions you have done.

All that would be some dedicated programming for the additions however.

Selling used stuff makes it tough.

You buy a part, used, as is, and the buyer uses it for a week and it breaks again.

Then he goes on and gives the seller a bad name, stating he sold broken junky parts, then you have the seller challenging it and on and on...

Just buy your chit, get your info on the person, if he burns ya, you get fellow forum buddies to take care of things.. LOL

Electronic bank fund transfers are safe. You can do a funds transfer to another's account, it works through your bank emailing the other person, to answer a question, and he goes online and enters his own internet banking site and confirms. It's pretty failsafe. Never heard of any scams from this.

Every time you write a cheque, you reveal your bank account number. It's written on the bottom.
