Marlon Sled Deck Wiring

Hey All,

Just purchased a used Marlon explore pro deck. It has some wires cut that run the power to the light bar on back of the deck (where the ramp hooks on).

Wondering if anyone has a photo of their deck wiring from the little black box on the side of the deck (where the 4pin trailer plug runs into) and how its all connected to power the light bar. Image of what mine currently looks like below. The wires that run to the light bar have the threaded connectors and are currently not connected to power in anyway.

In my mind, it seems that the 4 strand wire that runs from the black box has had its threaded water resistant connector cut off, and then the other 3 strand wire is just another auxiliary wire. Unsure though so I thought I would see if anyone had some insight here.

If I wasn't on the road working I could look at mine.

The threaded connection is for adding or removing the flip up deck extension which also has a light bar.

FYI if this is going on something newer you can't just plug into the truck trailer wiring. It will think you have a trailer and all kinds of nanny stuff turns off with warnings every time you start the truck.

Not sure how old the deck is, but that looks like pretty cheap wiring for something that's going to be covered in salt, snow and ice all winter. May want to grab a roll of decent insulated 4 wire and start from scratch. Solder and heat shrink every connection. Buy proper weather proof plugs, and you will likely never have an issue again. If you try chasing and patching what you have it may be a long winter. Remember, lights never short out in the garage or when it's warm and still light out. They will pile up when the wind is blowing at minus 20 and your borderline over .08
