Hello everyone. My name is Brandon and I have been a part of the Motorsport scene (bikes and sleds) since 1996, and been working in the industry since '06. I am a journeyman tech here at Main Jet Motorsports in Nelson BC and am hoping to help the connection between the store and the online scene :)

Bills Larry. In all reality Bills. My husband is immigrating here from Wyoming, and it's not been an easy go. We are three years into the process with no end in sight. It's money after money after money with that.
I have four wonderful children, the most amazing kids on the planet, and I simply wasn't making enough to feed clothe shelter and provide for them.
I was going to give up on the Motorsports industry. Where we live up in Awesomeland was about 40 minutes from Nelson, Gas is expensive, the housing in Nelson is absolutely unattainable for us. I am trying to do the best that I can with what I have and what I had wasn't good enough. I considered piling lumber at the local mill. When Terry heard this he contacted me with a wonderful opportunity for our family. It breaks my heart to leave here. We are all beyond upset, but when it comes down to it, we need to be able to provide for our family. I was going to give up riding. I'd ride a freakin broomstick if it meant my kids were being given all that they needed. I am a Mom, through and through.. nothing is more important than that. We all talked about it, we can have "Awesomeland" wherever we may go. We are a close family, and we became even closer with our life up the Mountain. It truly was an amazing paradise.

Don't feel too sad for me. I'm quite certain that Terry is one of the most phenomenal people to work for on the planet. Support, love and a sense of WOO HOOOOOOOO in the industry makes me proud to be a part of his T and T family. The love and concern he shows for my family gives me the oomph to make this move. It's a big one, but In my heart it's what we all need.
I grew up fishing around Bonnyville. There is a lake called Wolf Lake up there that is one of my most favorite places on the planet. My mom's ashes are actually there, and I have oodles of cousins, uncles and aunts that are within driving distance to Bonny. My cousins are so excited. We'll take all the kids (we all have a bazillion of them) to Wolf this summer for a little reunion, and show them how awesome it is. Northern lights, HUGE Jackfish, and lots of swimming. I'd spend hours with my grandpa picking mushrooms around Tucker lake. I love the mountains, but there are blessings in every area to enjoy especially if you have a happy family! :)

Thank you Larry! :)
In all reality it was a dream. We have everything down pat, and have wonderful system working for us. We were all looking forward to Summer and building Single track Dirt bike trails throughout the property, and catching Brook Trout from the creek. I'd had plans for a pool with solar heating and a wood fired hot tub!!! The kids were going to build the most Kick arse fort on the planet. Leo was perfecting his Bent willow furniture building skills for our home and their fort. I have been a mess of snot and tears, but in the end adventure just seems to follow our family. We are peeps that like getting out there and doing life. I think it was in the cards when the Editor of Snoriders Magazine decided to call our column Off the beaten track rather than Off the grid off our rockers, as Off the beaten track kind of describes how we roll. I'll continue to write, and probably have even crazier adventures as we assimilate into life up in Bonnyville.
Thank you for your words of encouragement!!

Well, congratulations!

Bonnyville is a VERY busy community. I hope you have housing lined up cause I hear there ain't any and what come available is snatched up quickly.

Lots of opportunity for you and your family up and around that part of the world.

Did a nickel in bonnyville about 10 yrs ago good place if you like the outside. Sounds like you kinda know the area already always preferred siebert lake over wolf though a little more your style to I thjnk 25 km of cut line road to get in huge pike in there caught lots 20lb+ on the rock bar that goes between the two sections of lake 4> feet if water and a 4 ft long fish laying on the rocks gets the heart going
Its going to be a hard move. Love the nelson area. Swimming on kootney lake. Wheeling and fishing up the mountain on 6 mile rd hanging out at gyro. Medi pizza before they sold to the new owners elephant mountain. The wife lived there for 5 years and her family had been there forever. Just moved her brother and mom ,its twice for her now, back about three years ago they lived past the water reservoir highest dwelling in town not really the nicest though lol. But the view of elephant mountain and the lake from up there was breathtaking Enjoy the flats. Dang bills. They suck

Thank you! I was talking to my Brother a couple days ago and he said the same thing. He said Wolf is still awesome, Tucker is more of a party spot than a wicked fishing lake ( I remember being tired of catching fish on Tucker, for every cast it was Fish on!! ) But he went to Siebert last year and said it was Phenomenal. Nice and secluded, great fishing, and peaceful. That is what were going to shoot for. Something else I've always wanted to do but never have was to get into the lakes that go into Wolf. My dad and my uncle used to tell me stories about those lakes saying they were awesome! I do want to catch a Jack fish on my fly rod too. I have little elk hair mice that I've never dared to use for Jacks.. I think it's time I cross that one off the bucket list too! It'll be nice to get back into duck hunting too. We have 2 labs, a black and a chocolate who seem very birdee, oo and Kids that love to eat! lol. I don't think my wolf will be to great at duck hunting, but we'll see! yup dang bills! But for every change there is a reason.... I'm keeping my mind and heart open! thank you!

I had a funny story to tell the kids. One summer we were camping at Wolf Lake. We made a road trip into Bonnyville to get supplies and shower at my uncle and Aunty's house. towards the end of town, on the highway I noticed two baby ducks trying to get across the road. I slammed on my brakes and dashed into traffic to catch the baby ducks. They were like little wood ducks. Catching baby ducks is harder than you'd imagine..... so there I was running against traffic chasing little ducks... I finally caught them, and got them back into the lake.. I'd like to believe they lived happily ever after... Cool stuff happens in Bonnyville too!
I ended up being a duck rescuer in Creston when we lived there too... There was someone's pet duck running in traffic so I saved him....

Then there was this psycho angry goose I used to get off the Highway going towards Wynndel.. Every day I'd shoo him off the road and he'd hiss at me.. then one day he was smushed.. I was sad.... but the creepy thing is, the very next day another goose that looked just like him appeared.. we were creeped out.. he was just as mean as his brother and ended up getting smushed by a gravel truck.. ..

So I guess the moral of my story is.. we'll have the same type of life no matter where we choose to dub Awesomeland!
