m7 rider upgrading to m8

I started riding doos, but aquired an m7 3 years ago. awsome sled but want more. looking to buy 2008 m8 slp exhaust d&dclutching said to be about 170ish hp. anybody have any idea

I would say at the most 160 but it would depend on any other motor mods. I like my m8 it works well with the stock pipe and most people say that the slp pipe is a big improvement.

good sled, 170 would take a lot of mods, 145 if it's just an slp exhaust and no mods, do the rear burandt update and it's perfect IMO, not being unrealistic on hp just sounds a little steep, the HO has 160 and the 9 and older were 143 ish, my buddies 09 with porting/full exhaust/intake/reeds/commander/head is still around the 165 mark, you can't go wrong with an M8 but if you can go for the 10-11 as they have the HO 800

Like Tantrum said. Did not come out with the high output motor until 2010 so if you are looking for a big bump in horsepower over the M7 look for a 10 or 11.
