Check the clear tube (white arrow pointing to it) for blockage. It can lead to bad running engine kinda makes your sled run sick like it has the flu if this tube is plugged! Clear it out by removing and blowing the tube out with air. Re route the tube under your intake boot if possible. If water traps in it or ice your sled will run sick! It regulates your sled for barometric pressure changes (Auto adjusting Tuning)

I put a stiffer spring on mine , arctic cat recomends you replace the pump,if there is an issue with pump. Look between the throttle bodies and work the the thumb lever check the pump to see if it's closing the hole way poke the lever with a screw driver mine would stay about a third of the way open

Yes you are correct that there isnt supposed to be any clamps there. Also you were looking for clutching stuff. What year M1000 and what do you have done to it? I run one and it rips.

Do you guys run regular fuel even in modded m1000s?

I've got an 09 w/ can/ypipe/intake and a pcv. Just curious as to fuel recommendations - I've been using premium - seems to run fine.

I run prem with a couple gallons of vp c111 per tank just because i have put a 3 degree timing key in mine. But i can also tell if i have to much vp in it cause it wont run as well. I dont see why you would need prem as you have not upped your compression or timing.

rk tec dd.piped.after market head.. i think its set up for the mountains...thats what the guy said who i bought it from.. its a 2008. i dont mountain ride much so i would like to clutch it for around my home trails.. also my plugs are a bit white so im guessing i have to shorten my linkage to the oil pump. how many turns should i go?? this web site is great for newbies like me it is very motivating thanks for the help!!

If your plugs are abit white i wouldn't be adjusting the oil pump, i would adjust the fuel controller. When plugs get whiteish like that it usually means that it's running lean(not enough fuel). With an aftermarket head on it your fuel requirements will be different than stock, it all depends on what compression ratio the domes are. Do you know what domes are in it? What angle is the helix in the RK tek sec clutch kit?

The boot going from the airbox to the throttle bodies just slips over the throttle bodies, and does not use any clamps. They also dont use an air filter. Just the screens at the top(stock intake) on the hood. And they are to keep snow out. The reason for ne real air filter persay is that there is no dirt or dust in the winter time.

put some isopropyl alcohol in the fuel as there might be some water in the fuel that freezes. Also it could be the throttle safety switch in the handle bars.

My 1000 and 800 are outside shed stored in all weather temps. Both start at -30 no problems other than a couple extra pulls! Check your cables from lever to throttle bodies for kinks, re route them if you have to ( zip ties) I use a spray oil lube to shoot inside the cable and my telescopic steering post, the stuff works instantly to free up cables and steering post! Maybe because your throttle is sticking it wont start, might have something to do with your throttle position sensor as well.... Not sure if this will help you but worth a shot! Good luck and post your results please~
