Have 09 m1000 and belt is to tight. I have taken clutch apart and there is one sim boldted to helix. Can I add a shim to spread the clutch halfs to loosen belt tension.

Also double check those little screws that hold the helix on.I had those come loose or break and boom there goes your secondary! And there is different thicknesses of shims to add to the secondary.

Reassemble your secondary the way it was. The shim behind the helix is supposed to be there. Part #11 on the secondary blow-out.

Adjust your deflection by adding OR removing the washers (part #17) behind the rubber oring (part #16) on your deflection adjustor (part #18).
Screw part #18 into your secondary (remember it's left had threads). It's a trial and error, but it sets the distance between your sheaves when you're all bolted together onto the DD.
