Looking at getting back into sledding and looking for good sled, thinking either a M8, M1000 or 800 summit. Would prefer a 153" track as would be riding on the flats also. Any good deals out there? What's recommended? Thanks

I have a 2008 M1000 162" for sale, it got a full SLP pipe kit with fuel controller, clutched, boss seat, polished tunnel, 3inch riser, billet handles, 2010 style rear tunnel, has run awesome everyday, I ride it in the mountains and around home in the flats with no issues, don't notice the only 4inches in extra lenght compared to the 153 on the flats for handling. I'm asking $7500 but am open to offers. Give me a call 780-667-8169 if interested.

Thanks for all the posts, Have found a few. Are the 09's and 10's worth the extra $$. The 1000 vs the 800? There are a lot more 1000's out there, there close in hp but weigh 30lbs more? Thanks

You would likely never notice the extra weight. I have an M 1000 and it works great. My M 8 buds say they can feel the difference in weight but...... way more grunt with the 1000. I,ve rode M 8 ,s and love them too. The 1000 is a sled that either works or it doesn,t seen a few that didn,t so my M 8 buds think they are all crap and better to get an M8 LOL. M8 with full exhaust is the only way to go stock they are quite a bit less power. So really your call to me they both ride alsmost the same just more grunt with the 1000. No one wants the 1000 cause they are SOooooooo heavy LOL and as i said some never worked for some reason. They areprone to lean out with mods so be careful of that with the 1000. Much more than a y pipe and you might need a controller. I have a y pipe can and Boyesen rad cages with no controller. 800 miles at 3 to 8000 feet and no issues yet. Course mine seems fat at idle at lower alts and seems to really clean up above 4000 feet. Good luck in the search. Might want to look at an M8 turbo too.
PS: easy to get the weight closer too. Stock can weighs a ton !!!

the 09's pushed about 140hp,the 010's are pushing abit more somewhere 160-163hp...I had an 09 m8 and i will say i loved that sled, was fun and nimble to ride, but i did find it could've used a few more HP.So that being said i would i would look at an 010 M8,you will love it.

Add y pipe pipe etc and you are close to the power of a 10.

Not quite...... my dad has a 08 m8 speedwerx full exhaust with all the 09 updates for weight savings, and the new seat and my 11 m8 goes way better. I made the mistake of trading sleds with him for bit one day in revy and I could not get him off mine, huge difference from 800 to 800 HO, over 20 Hp stock to stock

There is alot more difference than just money between the 08and 09/10 i would not hesitate to spend he extra it is full value the 09s were that much better and the 10 has more power than the 09.

also the 010 seats are alot nicer..IMO than the others...also the 09+ have engine reverse and a powerclaw claw, not sure what the 08 had for a track but everyone says the powerclaw is better than what's on the 08's...get the 10.

The 2008/09 M8's were rated at 145-148hp and the 2010/2011 M HO is rated at 162hp. I have done a bunch of the 09's with exhaust's and set-up and they run right beside the 2010/11's. I personally wouldn't go older than '09 because then you get the electronic reverse.
