Looking for Honda 400ex engine parts

Anybody know of a decent place to find a new top end for a honda 400ex, other than going to honda, very pricey. Bike is nice enough that it is worth fixing, but would like to do it in a budget. Thinking about it now, maybe a complete used engine would be the best option, kind of suspect the engine was run way low on oil. Any idea's on where a person could find one?

i say move on to a new machine as my 400ex was a yearly rebuild, but that said i had alot of fun on it and it was a FAST fun machine, i had mine rebuilt yearly for under $500 in parts, and it was all a matter of shopping around

I know a guy that's selling a 400ex with a fresh 440 engine. Lot's of other stuff too. Don't know how much he's asking though but he wants to sell it, he doesn't ride it much any more. pm me if you want his no. Dan
