Hey im looking at getting a new sled, If i buy one it will be a 2010 summit 154 or 163. I currently have 09 Renegade with a 141x2.25x15. Im not so much into Highmarking, i enjoy playing in the drifts and Trees as well as deep Powder. What sled would best Suit me?

I have an 08 154" and a 10 163" with the XP chassis. Both are awesome but the 163 is just better. Years ago I had a Polaris 159" and that was a pig. What a difference a few years make.

The 163" is a treat in the trees and can manouver quite well. Absolutely a treat to break trail with; the logging roads are a blast with a fresh dump on them! My kids really noticed a difference in my riding with the first XP and now it is another step higher with the 163. All I'm lacking is the guts.....:beer:

if your gade has low miles, I would just stuff a longer track with a higher lug height on it and you would have a killer mountain machine with very low cost.

Depending on how often you ride DEEP snow, you might only want the 154. I rode it for two years and only wished for a longer track on days like this....lol

Well, you already know my answer LOL...

I have the Summit with the 154 and I have an M7 with the 162 and I personally like the 154 better HOWEVER, I have never been in real deep snow!

My other daughter rides an M6 with a 141 and as a group we have the most fun on that thing, it will go anywhere, but of course she weighs about 90 pounds haha

I think 154" is good enough, these sleds go good enough. I was highmarking my buddies 163" in 1.5' snow, but I'm about 30 lbs lighter and my sled is probably set up a bit better.

154" is better for around home ditchbanging too...

What i am looking at doing is keeping my Gade as a ditchbanger at home and for the GF if she wants to come to the hills. If i get a new sled it will be only for the mountains, that way they dont get miled out as bad.

ive never had as much fun on any sled as i did this season with my xp 163. i really thought it would hinder my riding with tig ht spaces and tree riding but if anything it made me a better rider and opened up more opportunities. and i dont mean highmarking. alot of technical stuff you can give it a good run with a 163. i realize the 154 is a better "all around" machine...but like mentioned the 163 is just better. i ride at least once or twice in the mountains a year and it is the way to go!

I went from a 144 to a 163 when I bought my last new one. I did contemplate a 155 but figured what the hell...go big or go home :d
I'm glad I did. You won't regret it ;)

also consider it will cost you over a grand to convert it to a 163 when you realize maybe youd like a 163 lol. and its only a 400$ option from the factory

If it's purely for the mountains, then a 163" might be a good choice. Keep in mind jumping and doing drops on a longer track ain't as good.
