Looking into an inclosed and im wondering what is roughly the weight on a loaded inclosed trailer with 4 sleds/gear?

What's the biggest i can safely go with my 05 dodge ram 1500? Truck is bought and paid for so mpg doesnt really matter when theres no monthly payment. Eventually i will go 3/4 ton but prob 2 years roughly.

Think a 1/2 can do it? Or just keep the old 2 place open until i have a truck that will do it safely and problem free? Im only planning on putting 3 sleds in but quoting for 4.

if you go all aluminum you should be well within your towing capacity with a half ton. engine and brakes will be taxed harder than a 3/4 ton....but like you said, it's paid for.

Obviously a 1 ton would be better but you could do it with a 1/2t. Is the trailer was aluminum it would help a great deal.

I pull a 23 foot enclosed with my 2010 f-150 (5.4) with ease. The enclosed is all aluminum and weighs 1900 lbs with out sleds. Normal rpm on flat roads is 2300 rpm going about 110km/h. Up a slight hill she revs to 3300 and big hills 4300rpm. Most times I have 2 sleds in the trailer but put 3 and didn't notice a change. Haven't tried 4 yet. I just got this set-up this year and am very impressed with the truck and trailer. I've heard good comments from the echo boosts as well. If you go steel frame trailer I would go with a 1 ton.
Trailer is a 2012 Stealth.

You have to load at your rated capacity, every truck is different depending on style and gear ratios. My 98 F150 was rated to take 6000 lb but that was Max, my 97 GMC was rated for 7400 lbs whereas my 05 GMC 3/4 ton is rated for 12,000 lb but that is for everything driver, passenger, deck crap in box etc. I moved up to the 3/4 ton as I was pulling a 5400 trailer with water, wood and other assorted items and I was 60 lbs over my fully loaded weight of 7400 lbs. That is just too much for continuous duty. Got the 3/4 ton for the safety factor and also cuz I bought a quad. Check your specs and take you rtruck to a weigh station, I'll bet you will be surprised at how heavy you really are.
