I thinking of getting a new quad for the wife she has a Polaris Scrambler 500 right now but it is time for a new one tired of fixing the Polaris. Anyway does anyone have a Kodiac what do you think of it? The good and bad. I would be getting her a new one so 2014 with EPS.

I was in same situation couple months back..pulled the trigger on 2014 kodiak 450 eps and havent looked back. Power steering is effortless for her nice smooth ride great machine for the mrs. My wife is only 5' tall could see if you've got a tall wife could be a little sore on her back but if not go for it she'll love it. Bought mine at e&s in fort sask great to deal with.

Hi Crow my wife is only 5'5" so the fit should be good I was looking at Riverside they told me $8000.00 all in inc GST with a winch I would imagine E&S would be a simaler price might go there if price is the same I bought my WR 450 from them. How does the rear brake preform as that is clutch type brake I have never had a quad with this type of brake and we ride in the mountains often. The Scrambler would go through a set of rear pads in a week out there but than it has no engin braking.

From what understand, these sealed breaks work great and last a long time. Betchya they're a pita to change though.

if memory serves me correctly E&S Even has an area where your wife could try the machine out before committing to the purchase, but I could be wrong.

Brute forces got that type of brakes that run in oil. They work good and last for ever.

Riverside must be sick of sitting on those 450s my wife had to have the blue but riverside was at 9200 and wouldn't budge...e&s was I think 8800 with hand and thumb warmers with 3000lb superwinch all installed. As for the brakes shes only got 120 km on the machine so seem to be good but pretty early to tell..hdkawi us the guy that turned me onto it ( we work for same company) hes got way more real world km on his, he might chime in with better info on the brakes

Yea I think that the kodiac will be a good choice for her I will give the guys at E&S a call see how much they want for one. I made a type O on the price from Riverside should be $8900.00 missed the 9. I was looking at the new Honda rubicon 500 that is coming out for 2015 looked good has EPS fuel injection and a front locker (finally) but the weight on the thing is over 700 lbs that's more than my Grizz so looks like a Kodiac it is

my buddy just changed the rear brakes on his 450 kodiak for our trip this weekend, I think it's an '05 with just over 4000km on it. he never mentioned anything about it being terribly tough, would that year have the same brakes?

I should add, that machine of his has been bullet proof. he's towed every brand of quad and more than a few side by sides with it, can't kill that thing.

Call parkland for a price too. Found they are competitive as well.

I wouldn't give them a nickel if they were the last people on the planet...........

bad experiences in the past with them, and will NOT go back.

I have bought 2 quads and no issues there. Price was way better than Argyll and riverside. Never used service department though.
