Anyone have a trick to remove the tip off my old wore out ski so I can bolt(no more rivet thingys) it on my new ski?

Also who runs the tip extensions on the DS3s? I never installed them as I like how I can cut the narrow ski tip in better than the DS2s on my '13.

New pair are 30$ I think but I'd rather just use the old one....

Thanks, Joel.

BTW, I wouldn't use an easy-out. I would think the heat would screw up the temper. Find a bolt that would be close to the right size or something with the tapered pipe thread.

Thanks for all your help and research Professor Ferniesnow!

I heated a spiral easy-out as suggested on the video, but found it difficult to seat it properly before spinning the rivet, therefore I wasn't able to pull very hard on it before it came off. I then pried with a knife and two flat blades until it popped out of the soft plastic. The last two I left the easy-out on the bench and just applied direct heat to the center of the rivet, way faster, a very small torch would be better than mine(same as video). The easy out is ok, but I think a more solid tool something like the bolt Ferniesnow suggested would doo a better job to transfer the heat and grip to pull. It does melt the plastic though, so I'm not sure if this is the best method if you are using the ski again, my old one is fubarred. Also prying the rivets destroys them as well. I have the BRP kit but will be using metric bolts and nylocks to attach it again.

Now what? Wait on snow! :snow:
