Vehicle thefts is only gonna be an ongoing concern and problem for people. Here is some info I learned from a fellow that just had to spend sometime in the remand centre for an unrelated topic. It's a big adreline rush for these criminals to steal a vehicle and on average can get $5000 per vehicle from a chop shop. This will be scarey to all you Ford owners because they are still the easiest to steal and vehicle of choice even with the new security chipped key for the '08 models. Stealing a vehicle has become quite the organized event and they do their homework on the vehicle(s) that are to be stolen. VIN numbers are in an easily visable place and with that they can then program a key and walla. The more organized rings are using an insider who may work at a body shop or custom detailing shop. Here they can look through the glove box looking for the vehicle registration and yup all the needed info is there. Trucks of great interest are the ones with all the lifts, fancy rims and tires and other bling. Dodge still seems to be the harder one to steal b/c of the more complex security coding in the chipped keys.

Aren't computers a wonderful thing now a days.

Food for thought...............

Oh and the source of this above info was saying that while waiting in what is called the "magic room" it was easy to figure out which guys like to steal just by all the wounds and bandages on a few guys that tried running and had the dogs released on them.

I know some friends are going as far as taking their pinkcard and registration out of their rides when not driving them, whats this world coming too . My neighbor had his F350 stolen last year in front of his church (of all places) and when the Cops found it was pretty thrashed.

Taking out your registration is prolly not a bad idea. Just as long as you don't forget to put it back in your vehicle.

One thing to consider also is if you keep your garage door opener in your vehicle and you have your address somewhere in the vehicle eg...registration, then the thief can find your house and get into your garage also. Hopefully there isn't any dumb thieves who have not thought of this already read this post. I'm pretty sure a lot of people have thought of this already but I thought I would just give my :twocents:
