Went for beers with friends tonight and thought I would just park in the closest lot, being a Sunday it can be well enforced. Well I was wrong, got a stupid impark ticket. I got them years ago in downtown Edmonton and never paid any of them, just hoping nothing has changed in last ten years.
Do they still have a collection agency call you? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1370845147.627929.jpg

Not paying impark can hurt your credit rating now if collections send you too many letters and you still don't pay. It was on the news a few months back because no one pays them.

in order for it to hurt your credit would they not first have to prove that you were driving the vehicle that night ... just cause you own it doesnt mean you didnt let your buddy take it or perhaps the wife left the kitchen jk

i never paid them years ago and if i remember correct if you have an out standing ticket with them they will tow you and if they see your plate in the parking lots again

I don't think they can report against your credit rating unless the amount owning exceeds a certain limit (maybe $200?). Just because they can't prove you were driving the vehicle, doesn't mean that it's not your responsibility to pay the ticket. After all, the plate is registered to your name. It's not much different than photo radar tickets - they won't give you demerit points, but you still have to pay the ticket. As for the towing issue, I've been threatened before, but have yet to see them follow through - I don't know if I've just been lucky or if it's a hollow threat.

I know they used to pull your info from registries, but I dont think they can do that anymore. I think I will wait and see what happens.
