just wondering how much cutting the head 0.010" on a 700 doo would raise compression. took the pto piston out due to detonation, bad gas looks like the culprit, it ran like a raped ape before bwaahhh time.

Not a huge amount but it totally depends on the head shape, squish clearance, squish angle, etc and where the 0.010" was removed and how it affected the other parameters. Don't know the factory specs but guessing around the 0.055-0.060" squish? Maybe 135-140 PSI stock, 0.010" off would be around 145-150 PSI, I'm guessing? Probably between 11:1 and 12:1? This is just my experience from other motors.
bad gas or not enough octane?
maybe it was the after effects of the raping????
man you may be right, there was a god awful noise coming out of the trailer that night. man what a mess had a doo, cat and a polaris, in there. :d:d

Every great has the odd stumbling block:dWhat's all this then ? Doo's breaking down......no, can't be, they don't break, doo they.
could't resist
sure it was bad gas as i ran for 2 years on fresh premium , with no problems, when you get a chance to put a whoopin on a m1000 you hold it real tight and push the throttle threw the bars. it didn't last for long 5km but a smile a mile wide.
more than likely reg gas, was in the shop.

repaired the damage from the beat down we gave the kitty cat. may not want to line it up again looks like she runs real good. here kitty kitty. :d. no more crappy gas for the doo. 2 pistons, and cylinder later, she's stirring in the trailer again.
this time we won't be using kitty cat gas, that stuff is pizz poor. less than regular octane.
