not a fan of cutting. i use a large hole saw maybe 2" diameter. and get as many as i can then i move down to a 1" hole saw to fill in the gaps i couldnt get then i move down to like a half inch drillbit or something to clean up the rest. that way it leaves structure in the panel. my sizes dont mean anything you can drill however many and whatever size holes you like.

agreed. There is very little marginal gain in air flow by making the holes as large as possible. I just use a 2" hole saw and drill as many as I can without affecting the structural integrity of the panel.

use a felt marker or paint pen to mark the INSIDE corners of the vent ( screened part pen will show through ) then draw lines with a straight edge to get the inside drawn out. then cut the holes. then put the vent back over and drill the holes for the rivet. i always put 1 or two rivets in first to hold it in place.

If you use JC Custom vents, he supplies a template and you cut out the whole vent. His vents are made of 1/8" water-cut aluminum and he supplies steel rivets. No need to keep the "panels strong" nor keep the structural integrity as the actual aluminum vent makes the panel a lot stronger.

You get what you pay for......

I've installed about three sets now all as mentioned above with a hole saw, never had any issues, one set wasn't pre drilled for rives so once the holes were cut I layed the vent on the panel made a drill through both and riveted it then opposite side did the same and worked it to the end, everything looks great on all, the modrods are nice panels and work just fine the only benefit of the aluminum panels is they make replaceable skin and mesh cartriges, but for the price you can buy a set of these again

I just installed a bunch of different ones on mine .. if you do decide to cut, just heat up a box cutter with a heat gun .. CUTS THE PLASTIC LIKE BUTTA!!!!

a side cutting drill bit on a dremel works great as you can control the speed doesn't leave a melted edge and you can cut circles squares triangle

if using hole saw, I found drill in reverse work better. left a clean edge

Good Exacto knife and a heat gun gets through the panels like nothing.
