honda starters

I have a 94 honda fourtrax, lately the starter stays engaged all the time, even with the key off and the on/off switch in the off position, I have to disconnect the battery to disengage the starter.
I have changed the solenoid and the ignition switch tests good.
does anyone know what would cause the starter to stay engaged at all times?

Bendix drive shaft stuck......try pulling the starter off and short the selinoid the shaft should come out and go back to off position and stop spinning..... if not then the starter is kaput. hope it helps ya out........
