honda rancher 420 snorkel?

Has anyone put snorkels on the rancher 420? if so what is involed, and would you recccomend it? I have looked at the extreme snorkel for the 420, but i have never done a snorkel or ridden with anyone that has had a snorkel and dont know much about them. any advice would be much appreciated

maybe theres nobody here who's done a snorkel on a 420 (successfully). i too have a 420 and would like to snork it, and have been waching your post. but no luck so far. ive only flooded it once. water was right at bottom of the seat. how about you? will have it snorked by next summer, one way or another im still on stock tires, and i dont like the clearance. rear brake drum is the worst. on my 350 2x4 rancher, the rear brake is basicly inside the rim. on the 420 its in the middle. wish they wouldnt have done that. anyways, i wanna go bigger on the tires and rims but not too big that i loose power or twist things up. ideas from you or anybody els would sure be appriceated. thanks and happy trails... ... ... ... ...

on my kawi 700 i used pvc pipe. just went to the stoor and picked up a few of every different bent and put something together. ive been looking though, and some people seem to be using some kind of ruber hose or flexible hose, wish i would have though of that. most hondas i've seen only had one snorkel, for the air intake. pretty sure there is no where else for water to enter. (no belt intake or belt exhaust)

as far as biggere tires or rims you wont bend anything up unless you go to maybe 28's with a huge lug. even then i dont think the honda will have enough power to really twist things up.... lol just saying. (we have a stock honda 400AT around the farm and i think it is gutless, but SOOO reliable)

i havent flooded mine. . . yet, but have come close a couple of times, the mechanic i take my quad to used to be a part of triangle atv or soemthing like that and said there is a snorkel kit that he could get from there and instal it for around $300, i think that is my safest bet seeing as how i know so little about this

BUILD YOUR OWN!!! Its not hard and a fun project for the winter. I did one on my 650 kawi and my RZR as well. I used 2"pvc pipe bends and got some 2" bendable hose from a farm supply store, think the total price was $60 +/-.

As far as tires, go with mudlites or zillas (not mudzillas) if your worried about weight. I would go with 26" max or you'll have to go with spacers/lift.

I've ridden with a guy that has the 420, its a great quad, awesome clutch system on those things.

snorkel kit is coming in the mail now. once i get instructions and a parts list, should be able to snorkel the other 420 for cheaper

I bet there is a no return policy on that kit because when u get it u will realize how simple it really is lol. But a good idea u have there about buying one then just making the other!
