Time to upgrade the home receiver to a new one.
Who or where do you trust in Edmonton to buy or deal with.
For chits and giggles, brands that you have or looking at.
Right now I have a Pioneer sc-61. Definitely not high end, but she’s 10 years old and time to move to the garage.

Im looking at ugrading my integrated amplfier as well. I have Yamaha, probably going to get another Yamaha.

Looking at the AS1200. It is 2 channel, so not for home theater. Its about 4g, its one of Yamaha\s better 2channel amps, but not the most expensive one either. Its not a reciever, just an amplifier all it has is volume/tone controls basically.

I probably will see if Visions can get it in.

I use mine for music as well as home theatre (smart tv only). Right now, I can only use the optic to connect the tv audio to the receiver. Unfortunately, the optic cable jammed and broke in the tv so now I will have to use arc (I believe). But this receiver is too old for arc.

I use blue tooth from my TV to my stereo. Its 2 channel though. 2 towers, 2 subs. No surround channels.

Sounds awesome, just no surround sound. If I was wanting surround sound, Id probably get a Yamaha Haha

There is lots of good brands though.

This is what I have really happy with it. Low price point mid option level. To my ears a high end sub makes all the difference as well.

If in Edmonton go to National Audio & Video, not consumer commodity crap there
Thanks Ron. I did see their site when I was googling for places. With a name like that AND their insignia, I wasn’t sure if it was a fly by night operation. Pretty damn close to National Car Rentals.

Audio Ark is a good store in Edmonton, if you are looking to spend a lot.

For some odd reason, I’m thinking that place is above my pay grade.
