well after summiteer is bugging me now just about a month (sorry is also got other stuff to do)
like some might remember i was a week in whitecourt for holidays and had my dirtbike with me
well i checked out the new dirtbiketrack at blue ridge and screwed my forkseals
so endet up whole thursday in randys shop (rpm powersports) to fix the fork seal (thanks again randy for giving me a spot in the shop and the tools)
so after the new seals where done we decidet "ah lets go for a rip this evening"
so randy and me took the backroad from whitecourt to blue ridge and pissed around on the trails theyre after prob 1,5hours we kinda where back at the gravelroad and looking at each other
"wanna see if somebody is at the track ?" cause we seen blue ridge already
"k lets go ! " question than was
taking the gravelroad or find a trail along the river
so like everybody knows roads are boring so we decidet to find a trail along the river to the bridge and than go from there
so we found a trail all the way down the prob 300feet drop ridge to the river made it down there and than started the journey !!!!
the trail brought us flat to the river but kinda endet all of a sudden
so we had to find our way to the trees water and so on
bikes overheated 3 times cause of not enough movement and just crossing logs and other stuff
finally made it to the river and than ..... hmmmmm where now not really a way to drive down there and that drop off way to steap to go back up
so we where kinda stuck down there
what are we doing now ?
i kinda got late already
at 9pm we decidet lets try driving along the riveredge cause we seen the bridge already like 3klicks away
bad bad decision we didnt even make it 500m when randy sliped and sunk the husaberg in the water
prob 5inches of the handlebars sticking out the water rest of the bike did some diving
we got her out but than nearly an hour to get her back started and realized there s no way we can drive this river edge so what now
we decidet than to leave the bikes at the riverbank and take the walk along the river
let me tell u one thing "a expirience i dont wanna do again"
so we left the bikes and started walking
the edge full of rocks steep drop all the way trees hanging over so we had to get in the water (water up to my nutts) and kept on walking it got dark already cause of course its already 11pm
dirtbikeboots full of water feeling like 20pounds on every foot no grip with the boots at the rocks
randy finally got service with his phone and ordered his wife to the brifge to pick us up
roughly 2 hours walking along the edge and we get nearly to the bridge but we had to climb up the drop off 300feet on an angle "jesus" u stand up and the ground just about touches ure face
i think it was 12pm when we got in the car and got something to drink
u mightwonder ok what happened to the bikes ????
well they stayed all frideay down in the middle of the athabaska on the riverbank
and randy organzed some fellas with riverboats to pick them up
so saturday morning we met dow at the bridge and got he bikes
"what a blast for everybody" but what a feeling for us 2
well it was an expirience for sure and i hope u enjoy the pictures as much as all our spectators we had
