I was rummaging through the basement and came across my set of HID's which were originally on my 2010 Polaris Dragon. Bulb size is the same as my new-to-me 2016 Cat that I picked up a few weeks ago.

I am wondering if anyone has any experience with putting in HID's on their Cats and if they worked well / didn't work well / stator or other electrical issue afterwards etc.

These have the standard 35W ballast and the high beam bulb is a halogen only low beam is an HID.

Someone told me that I'll have nothing but headaches if I proceed to install them.... so any real life experiences out there?

Thanks,

No hid's unless you have a battery.
The ballasts need the battery juice to light the arc.
Go led, no battery needed and much more reliable overall.

I also installed super bright LED bulbs. Needed to do a little cutting on the rubber sealing boot, but was easy to install. No idea on the HID

The only reason I made the switch was to free up amps/draw from my stator

Continuing on this topic... do the e-start M8000 push AC or DC to the headlight? Wouldn't mind throwing LEDS in mine.
