i just put L.E.D in mine, needed something better, my kid has put in 3-4 renditions of H.I.D and nothing but grief, his last set of projectors were probably best but still lots of burnt bulbs.

Is recommend getting a light bar instead, I just got a 20" for $200.00. The nice thing about going with a light bar is when you turn it off you have regular low beams and no one flashed you with their lights.

have a a light bar but the problem with that is when you shut it off it's to big of a change, hopefully with the L.E.D it will be better.

I was looking at those LED conversion kits that go into your high beams. They really appeal to me for the instant on. But the kid at the Lordco in Revy was actually honest and told me they don't penetrate through weather well, and don't have the long range like the HID's.

To the original poster, i wouldn't recommend HID's in a stock housing. Just go and find a good set of halogens, I have HID's in my truck, and don't really like them, they have a lot of glare on other drivers, but they're what i got for now. Look into a hid projector retrofit with bi-xenon. By far your best choice. They have high quality hid's and a projector housing, controls the light output so other drivers can see, and so you can be legal. Not to mention the signs are stupid bright when they reflect back the HID's in a stock housing because it just sprays light everywhere.

Kinda like this.

Yeh I had hids years ago for replacements in reflective housings and not good.
Have them in 2014 GMC with projectors and work great compared to the stock crap. "Stock was terrible"
Would like to put something else in my 2012 one ton GMC . Have piaa's but they burn out every 11 months. Replace under warranty but a pain to change.

HID's are made for a projector housing, so take that for what it's worth. BTW, perhaps your headlights are not aimed properly? My wife's 2011 F150 with stock headlights are very bright, some of the best OEM headlamps made IMHO...

I run LED's in mine and like them, the new ones are getting better all the time, similar output to HID's and significantly more reliable, the LED's in my fogs are significantly brighter than the average high beam headlight. If you want some, these are supposed to be about the best, mine are an earlier model by the same company. Only problem is there are sold out until mid march i believe.

I believe HID Vision Canada sells them.

I have a set of H.I.D used out of 2011 f350 you can have for cheap. Sold the truck and took the lights out. They are stupid bright. Felt sorry for anybody that was in front of me. Didn't help with the lift and 37" tires either. When you parked against a building in mid day you could see your headlights shining on the wall.

Well got a chance to try out the L.E.D lights and although they are better they are only 50%!to where they should really be, the fog lights seem to make the biggest difference, for the headlights think I will try something else next time.

And so many fawking idiots insist on leaving them on while meeting traffic. I would like to take a hammer and smash out every set I see where they have illegal HID or LED bulbs in them.

With my L.E.D in my fog lights I never got flashed once, so headlight aiming is key

Why is it necessary to have fog lights on in broad daylight when it's not foggy ?

No doubt, not sure if they know just how bright they are to oncoming traffic. LED is a good option but still in its infancy, stick with some aftermarket projos (can get them on eBay for cheap, not the best option but you won't blind anyone) and MAKE SURE you use a relay. Most people that pop bulbs don't have them on a relay and a lot of vehicles don't have enough juice to fire up both bulbs on startup giving them the one eyed bandit effect even though there is nothing wrong with their bulbs or ballasts. And stick with 4300-4500K bulbs, anything higher is a waste as they are bluer and the human eye has a hard time with blue at night
