Putting a heated visor plug on my 15 summit X and having problems getting the panel with DESS off. I can unclip the three clips on the outside and bottom. I'm having a heck of a time releasing the two closest to the steering column. Thinking of just drilling in from the top of the panel. Does anyone have a picture of theirs or any advice? Does it go above or below the DESS on the panel? Thanks!

I just drilled mine on the L/H side of steering post panel. There was some issues with interference with it being close to the DESS.
Never had to remove panel and lots of wire to reach over.Just drill from top down...Does not interfere with tether and one less wire dangling by throttle side.
Start with a small drill and step up to hole size.....
Sucks when you drill to big of a hole right off the bat..... Just saying....

I put mine on the right hand side just above the RF key. Like kimrick says drill from the top. You need to make sure the hole is in the middle of the panel (as looking from underneath) as the ground fixture has to seat properly. There is a ferrite recall apparently for electrical interference. I don't know anything about it other than reading that on DooTalk. The wiring harness is right in that area and it just clips into the existing plug. Good luck and sorry I have no pictures.

It's been a couple years since I did mine. I put it on the right side panel where they tell you to. I recall having some issue getting that panel out or in. I don't recall any reason you have to remove it to drill it.

Drilled mine from above. Got tired of trying to remove that panel as well.

Looks like a lot of you had the same problem as I did. Just drilled it from the top. Thanks for the help!
