Gross weight

So i'm doing some final suspension tuning and set up on my sled. In doing so i added all the weight my sled has to carry while riding.
For me my sled has to haul around 295lbs all day long.
Myself all geared up i stand at 250lbs with pack.
I carry a tunnel bag that weigh's in at 15lbs loaded.
And a 4 gallon gas can at 30lbs full.

I'm replace the center coil with an appropriate rated coil to carry the weight properly. It is surprising how heavy the sled truly is while riding.
I suspect my gross weight will be nearly 900-1000lbs....yiks, once i truly add things up.

Makes the lightweight fad of the mid 2000s where people were spending $100 a pound seem even more nuts when you realize that $1000 saved roughly 1% of gross vehicle weight.

Don't you carry any thing on your sled?
I see some out there carrying almost everything but the kitchen sink LOL. While i see plenty carrying almost nothing, maybe a nearly empty tunnel bag. I guess they hope their buddy has what they might need.
I think you would be very surprised how close our sleds would be in weight while in use and not sitting in a shop.

No. Im the opposite. I take everything I can out to save weight; tools, supplies, etc. Even melt snow up on the hill to drink. If I need something bad enough up there, someone will have it. Let them suffer the weight penalty for carrying it right?

Just busting your balls. And yes I do agree that its funny guys spending 100 a pound to lighten up a sled when you look at the bigger picture. Even funnier when the majority of guys with enough money to do this are packing around $3000 or more in weight on themselves

Haha....Im about the exact same since the middle of January. A complex program of not having a few drinks every night and just eating a bit less. Amazing how simple it can be when you put your mind to it.
