I got a brand new grease gun to grease my sled only to have it rip out two grease nipples!!! The damn coupler was two tight. I tried to tread the nipples back in, but the aluminium on the skid is striped!! :nono: Has anyone had this problem and how can I fix it?

Going to have to buy bigger zerts (grease nipples) and then drill- tap holes and reinstall new nipples. Don't forget to add medium lock tite when reinstalling.

Not really a hard fix!

He owns a 2010 HCR...lol, Cam is your real name Hurcules? Drill n tap is the only way now, or at least try tapping the threads to clean em up and see if you can at least screw the zerts back in for this weekend.

lol, The resale value of his sled will be amazing Max. Cam unless you got like 1000km on that sled allready you were allright for grease but I'm the same way, better to be sure it's all good. Usually 2 or 3 grease jobs a season if your riding lots is the norm.

And don't rip anything else off that sled!...lol.

Weekend fix is easy.
Wrap with rubber tape and install hose clamp over the tape.

Make sure the tightening bolt on the clamp is facing a direction where it will not interfere with anything.

Same thing happened to me. You can buy drive in grease nipples, they are just a bit bigger than standard thread. Its been holdin in mine.

I didnt even pull on it that hard! The grease nippes only have about three threads that bite into the metal. Kind of a stupid design if you ask me
