After all said and done I think close the $1200... Tab would know the total, he bought his on the weekend. I think BA and I are getting ours near the date of the Calgary show.

I looked at both the Snowpulse and the ABS packs. They were priced pretty close to the same. The pulse packs did feel lighter. The storage option for the abs I thought were better. Being able to change pack sizes was nice too. I think the #1 reason I went with the ABS pack was They have been tested and proven to work. The hole bag around my head was not a big selling feature for me, as you have no peripheral vision and as far as head trauma you already have a helmet on. This style of pack would be better suited for beanie wearing ski/snowboards in my opinion.

The helmet will protect your head, but not your neck. Kind of unrelated, but my cousin was wearing a helmet when he got into his dirtbiking accident, and the way he fell, the bottom part of the back of his head was exposed. When the bike landed on his neck/head, the trauma caused bleeding around his brain and he had a stroke because of it. If you were in an avalanche that pushed you toward a tree, rock, or your sled, having the extra protection around the neck and head would be very beneficial. That is the main reason that I went for the snowpulse bag. The fact that it is lighter was just a bonus for me. There seems to have been some behind the scenes testing for quite a while with the snowpulse and it seems to be a very basic trigger setup. The only complaint that I have with the bag is that the shovel & probe cannot be mounted on the outside of the bag, but there is a seperate pocket for them so oh well.

Just my 2 cents.
