The woman who challenged the law regarding wearing a veil (Niqab) over her face during the Canadian citizenship swearing in ceremonies, has had the decision overturned. Harper spoke about it today and basically said if you want to be a Canadian "show us your face" that is the Canadian way !!!! It's about time someone took a stand !!!! It's before the courts again.

Give Harper a medal for "political bravery"...politicians often have to walk on glass, you can't please everyone and that was quite the political leap of faith.

I believe your statement to be true with the amount of support he has with the masses. My concern is as the working head out of our ass class actually trying to get somewhere in life and be successful will we all have or make time to VOTE!! I work out of town in a camp and I am tell you guys right here right now it is not as simple sending off some mail. Figure out how to get your vote in and get er done!!! We all do this and we won't need to be wearing ski masks taking back our country.

Harper is still a tool but I agree with him on this 100%. I guess each leader is posturing for the max amount of votes which is what it comes down to it. He has been in power for years why didn't he take up this issue then? I just arrived from overseas last night and watched 8 muslims wearing the FULL head gear clear customs without showing their faces. Several people were outraged and filmed it. Unfortunately my battery was dead otherwise I would have done the same.

let me spin this back at you…… if Harper was against it why did he not take necessary steps to ban it years ago??? These guys think we are a bunch of sheep and tell us what we want to hear just before the elections. Then when elected……… silence! As an example, when Harper was in opposition, he was outraged that screening mail/parcels on flights was not being done but passengers had to more or less drop their drawers off to get thru X-ray screening. Sounds good and I can support that. However, despite his rants about it and made it an election promise years ago nothing has been done. Weird eh!

I have said it many times on this forum, I voted for Harper last time but after years in power I have come to realization we need a change. Do I think the other two are our saviours….. NO!
