Golf clubs where to buy any recommendations on what to buy

So I have been effectively out of the game for 15 ish years and from what I can see technology has changed a bit...I want to get out there and get a few rounds in this year but figure I should probably upgrade. Anybody have a good hookup around the edmonton area?

Check kijiji for used sets. Unless you plan on dropping $1000+ on new for a few rounds a year.

Check out any Golftown. They can definitely set you up properly and you don't need to spend a grand

I'm all over kijji.. However after doing some research it appears that that are good deals on used however the most important thing is sizing and forgiveness etc. This is where knowledge about what to buy to help your game comes into play.

Yup, golftown has some of the best prices... Probably get a decent set around $500 on sale

rent some clubs and see what you like. go here for some used ones. My new set looked used after 2 rounds anywho. I think you can buy based of condition....

Golf Town is a good place for deals. They have daily deals on their website as well. The nice part is that they have a place to swing them and see how they feel. They also give you a quick analysis of your swing (speed usually) which helps them recommend which shaft may be better for you.
You might want to check with some course in your area. I know Heritage Pointe (Calgary) and High River had demo sets that were reasonable. That was just irons though. They price their demo drivers pretty well too.

Edit: Check out the Callaway Pre-Owned Site too. They grade them according to wear.

I just bought a new set at Deboers golf shop, they have decent deals for the most part, and there staff is alot more knowledgeable then the staff I usually encounter in golftown

Pinemeadowgolf.com I bought a custom made set from them a couple years ago. I had the clubs in my hands in five days and I feel they are a good clubs for the price.

My suggestion is going to somewhere like Golftown, finding something that catches your eye and trying it out. That way you'll have an idea if it's going to work for you or not. As far as buying clubs goes, I'm done with buying new, with the exception of drivers. I end up buying last years model at half the price in the winter.

As far as shopping online for used, Callaway pre-owned is a great site for all brands of used. Lots of good sellers on eBay too, like 2nd Swing and Proclubs. The swap section on GolfWRX is good for higher end stuff too.
