so i have a 2005 polaris sportsman 500 ho it has stock tires on it 26x9x12 and 26x11x12 i was wondering if it will have any effect on the quad to go to 25x10x12 and 25x12x12 in a more aggressive tire..

Are you sure about stock tires are 26s more like 25s if I am correct.

^^x2 what he said. other than price, why are you going down in size? completely stock that quad will turn 26s with ease:)

the only reason i would consider doing this is because they are on average 120 dollars cheaper a set. and i know a guy who has 25 mudders and wants to go to a less agresive tire.

o alright ya id stick with 26s then. going down in size you'll lose only a litte ground clearance, you'll turn 26inch mudders just as good as 25s.

good to here i really like the maxxis zilla's and am thinking really hard about getting a set in 26's they are super light when comparing to other similar tires .i see you run them and like them.and thats all i've been hereing is good things about them. they are very reasonable priced to.might just have to get off my wallet and get them coming

Going to a 25 you will save some weight on the rolling mass, you will also gain bottom end but lose top end, almost like changing the gearing. But like someone also stated you will lose clearance. Myself I would keep the 26.....nah I would go 28's clearance is king.

I would stick with a 26 or 27" tire

26 10 12
26 12 12

OR

27 8 12
27 10 12

The only problem you might have is needing a spacer on the fron for a 10in wide tire,.. but I am not sure.
