Hey all

Im by no means a tech guy and cant really tell the difference between the two besides the remote on the launch, but the launch looks to be a more awkward shape.

Which one should a guy get and why?

never thought i would be doing a this vs that thread....lol:cool:

Go pro works very well. Lots of mounting positions and it is bomb proof! Have fun with whatever you decide to get!

I assume by the Launch camera you mean the ?

We sell this camera along with the on our website and in our store. Both are really good cameras and it comes down a bit to what your personal preference is. I really like the remote control and colour screen on the Drift Innovation HD170 - it makes it really easy to use, especially on longer trips when you don't have a laptop with you. That said there are a lot of loyal GoPro users out there that are stoked with their camera. The GoPro probably has the best mounts of any helmet camera on the market at the moment (except maybe the VIO POV camera, but that isn't HD yet).

If you've got any questions about any of these cameras let me know - we try our hardest to provide unbiased advice and make sure you end up with the right camera for you.

I have both and prefer the Drift. The remote is awesome. The GP is smaller...but it's really a cheesy cheap plastic thing....the best part about the GP is the enclosure. The main picture taking button on mine lost all it's spring and only works intermittently now....it's relegated to hanging under my RC planes for aerial duty now while the Drift gets the snow and the mud!

There is a table that you might find helpful at - . It shows a direct comparison of the main features of the GoPro HD, Drift HD170 and also the Contour HD helmet cameras.

How about some pictures of these cameras actually mounted to helmets too?

The VHoldr and Drift ones are pretty sleek, and the GoPro look like like they'd snag branches and stuff.

Never actually heard of the drift one until now, but it looks like a pretty skookum unit too.

I have a V-Holdr and love it....but that Drift Innovations unit looks way cool with the LCD screen right on it. Might just have to get one! :p
