Anyone into building go karts? Sledbunnyracing's son C.j. and I want to build one over the summer.. Not much discussion but that new one on the north end "Speeders" is a ton of fun! Those electric ones are fast.

Where do we start?

Like any project of value, I imagine the first stop would be the beer store...

Well said

If you want a Katy that's worth while. Put an engine In it.
Those electric ones at speeders aren't as fast and last half as long and let's not forget to mention they take hours longer to refuel as gas engines. Electric is good at speeders because the track is slow and the race don't even last 5 minutes.

Lots of Katy kits out there too. Past I check Paul Tracy karting had kits

well first thing you gots to do is get the 1000 out of dads sled,

now you have your engine , might as well take clutches while your at it as you need to remove them to get the engine out and you can use them too. now you just need to build the chassis easy peasy lol.

I had a dirrect drive kart that had a 96 mph top speed but slow off the line.......but if you dont use the 1000 engine and clutches.......go 250 shifter Kart......way more fun in parking lots! friend used a 750 zx engine out of a bike........to much power.....bit of an overkill! he never took it out of second gear lol. I would like to try a new 450 4 stroke out of a honda dirtbike.......I think that would be a great shifter kart engine!

Where do we start?

Start by taking the motor out of you dads truck or sled too get some speed.
Then get some metal and start welding. And then you are almost done. Lol
