You don’t see the GM and Chevy trucks on the road like you used to. It’s all Dodge and Ford it seems. I know they are expensive but they get have a lot of followers still I’m guessing?

Apparently they are all in some form of trouble. Was reading this morning that Stellantis is in talks about cutting one of it's divisions completely! Stock down 50%. Honda and Nissan are talking merger to save the brand. More interesting information out of the US:

Average days a new vehicle is sitting on the lot - 220
Inventory is up 120% since 2023.
Current new vehicle depreciation - 25% to 30% within 6 months.
60 million in new vehicle sales lost last quarter.
Average manufacturer estimated production cuts - 25%
$7200 is the current average a new car owner owes more than the vehicle is worth. For 1 in 5 it's about $10000.
Auto insurance has doubled nationally over the last 2 to 2 1/2 years.
Banks are rejecting 1 in 5 auto loan requests.

Tough times ahead for the auto industry. Will they get bailouts again?

The big 3 have forgot about the entry level consumer. How many people as their first vehicle can afford to buy a Ford, GM or Dodge? They simply don't build small or cheap vehicles anymore.

All the imports offer small-ish cars at lower price points, including on the used market. Odds are if a person has a positive experience with that first vehicle they will continue to purchase that brand. The big 3 are completely missing out on that opportunity.

All manufacturers are in trouble, not just automakers. The Tariffs are going to hurt Americans more, from what I have been told, if the vin of your vehicle doesn’t have a 1 at the start, don’t expect a good resale.
There are different reasons why consumers are shying away from buying new. The interest rates are crazy high, and people has not forgotten the covid greed that some dealers took advantage of.

I can see zero percent on HD trucks in the future again.

china is kicking ass in their own country. the VW auto group gets 50% of their profits from that market but not any more, which is half a dozen brands is in all likelihood going under (BMW, Audi, Porsche, etc)
american car makers in china are being out maneuvered and are shutting down dealerships.
unions aren’t helping.

My 3500 Denali in 2021 was 90. I have not seen a Denali ultimate stickered at 140 for a SRW, but the ultimate trim is alot different than a regular Denali. Thats like comparing a Laramie ram to a limited.
AT4X is a nicer truck IMO, the AEV package is about 140 on the sticker.

the one i looked at, at davis in med hat was 137,900.00 pretty close to 140. its on now for 126 because its a demo. what does the ultimate have over the denali. as far as i can tell it has brown seats, which are butt ugly anyway.

It must of had the 6000 optional rims.
It has a Better quality leather, better massage seats, better stereo, Swede headliner etc. I agree the brown is butt ugly on the ultimate, not a fan. The AT4x is the same interior except the color of the seats. IMO the AT4X is a better truck with the 3” lift and the 35’s.
