I have an 08 M8 that I started up this summer to load on the trailer. Notice gas leaking out of the belly pan when it was warming up. I did not have time to check where it was coming from other than the hole front side of the motor was wet. Just wondering if there is a common place that a leak can come from. Don't know if anyone else has come across this but thought it was worth asking.

Just check your fuel line from the tank to the throttle body's.
I have wore a hole where the fuel line is above the starter recoil.
And the obvious loose hose clamp....

  • Thanks I will check that. Hopefully it will be as easy as changing the hose out.

I have a 2008 M8 as well and mine was leaking right where the rubber hose connects to the fuel rail on the throttle bodies. The hose clamp must not have been real tight and wore a hole in the hose. There was enough slack that I just cut off the end of the hose and reclamped it. I would bet thats where yours is leaking. Make sure the clamp is tight afterwards so it doesn't rub through again.

Found a hole in the gas line about 3 inches from the fuel rail. The hose was pulled across the corner of the intake and rubbed through on a sharp edge. Other m owners might want to check theirs for routing since it isn't something you can patch up easily out in the hills.
