Just heard a Canadian tire commercial advertising tires with "less rolling resistance" that are supposed to save you 4000km of fuel through the lifetime of the tires. This is the biggest crock I have heard. First of all if it's because of a lighter weight tire, I'm sure Goodyear has already thought of that. Secondly most small vehicle tires don't have big mud lugs so you won't save any resistance there. Thirdly i don't know how but if they claim there Is less friction with these special tires, wouldn't that be bad?

That really got me going. Tell me if I'm not seeing something

Just put your tire pressures to the maximum as stated on the tires and you'll get the maximum gas mileage out of tires possible......... Common sense.......... However the ride will be a little rough than what it would be with the recomended pressures by the vehicle manufactures and the middle of the tire would wear quicker :)

Ha ha yeah I can't believe people fall for this though. It bothers me that stores like this play on peoples lack of knowledge. mind you when I come to things like computers or other things I don't know much about, I could probably be pretty niave as well.

yes probably ridiculously hard rubber as well, less resistance, but really 3000km over the life of the tire fug off, if i slow down a bit i will get more than that out of my regular tires.

It seems that this is a gimmicky claim. How do you prove or disprove it? Means nothing as there is several different things that affect mileage (mpg or mp life of tire)

So, if I bought these tires, and burned 'em right up on the spot with my truck, would I save 4,000 bucks?
