Arriving this spring, F-150 with 3.0-litre Power Stroke diesel engine boasts 250 hp and 440 lb.-ft. of torque.
Ford is introducing the first-ever F-150 Power Stroke diesel with a targeted EPA-estimated 30 mpg (7.8L/100 km) highway rating, 11,400 pounds of towing capacity and 2,020 pounds of payload capacity.
“For every truck owner who wants strong fuel economy while they tow and haul, we offer a new 3.0-litre Power Stroke V6 engine that dreams are made of,” said Dave Filipe, Vice-President, Global Powertrain Engineering. “The more you tow and the longer you haul, the more you’ll appreciate its class-leading towing and payload capacity and how efficient it is at the pump.”
Peak torque comes at just 1,750 rpm with strong torque delivery continuing throughout the rpm range, which is ideal for towing or hauling heavy loads over long distances.
“We know that competing diesels with electric cooling fans have to dial back on power under extreme heat and altitude, so we decided on a viscous-controlled mechanical fan that has the capacity to move much more air across the radiator and intercooler in extreme conditions,” said David Ives, Ford diesel engine technical specialist. “This gives F-150 Power Stroke owners more power and more passing capability in harsh conditions.”

I think you should have started this in the ‘sled deck on half ton’ thread.
I saw that spec of 2000lb capacity and immediately thought "let's put a deck with two sleds on this thing."

Where's cdnfireman and his gas vs diesel spreadsheet to really get down to the nitty gritty of the advantages of gas vs this new diesel truck. Those damn fuel filters and 3L of extra oil, game over. ;)

I’ll send you some copies of my spreadsheets for you to burn under all the Fiat diesel trucks to thaw out their frozen DEF tanks. That way they can get them to run long enough to get to the dealer for the $2700 dollar fix for the new DEF pump. Besides, judging by the fiasco of the Fiat ecodiesel POS, I wouldn’t hold my breath on any new diesel, although ford does generally do a better job of introducing new technologies.

Hasn’t this little diesel been around for a bit.
Land Rover ,Range Rover ?
Still wouldn’t touch it for a few years.
I will burn more fuel and drive the EB with more HP and Torque.

You cant say that here. You have to drive a diesel whether you need it or not because that’s what everyone else does.

I have both and they both have advantages and disadvantages?
But in the last 16 months I haven’t put 2000 kms on Dmax but 62000 on F150 EB. Lol
I see a lot buying a diesel to pull big trailer for two three weeks a year . Crazy
Could drive something way more economical and comfortable and rent a diesel for the two or three weeks needed.
To me these little 1/2 ton diesels are silly but each to there own.

I 100% agree........
I just sold my 1 ton diesel and bought a 1/2 ton gas pot.
For the amount I plan on pulling my holiday trailer, I'll eat the sh!tty gas mileage for that week.
I do miss my diesel, but it was an unneeded grocery getter

heard the eco boost likes the premium at premium price so price are close at the moment for eco boost guys.

I personally do more with my diesel than get groceries.

This new ford pitch was focused on the torque of the small engine for towing vs dodge focused on economy.
