Friggin' awesome! The best First Ride ever! Sure, there are hazards and no base, the trail up has some rocks, but for opening day, my oh my!

Video will come a little later.

Welcome to the Ford camp. Might have to try out an XM some day.

Snow looks great...any hints as to the area. Hope to get out on the weekend.

Did Elkford get the rain that Fernie did? I was watching the cameras at the ski hill during the last monsoon and it looked like it rained to near the top. Might have transitioned nicely with the cool down...but maybe not.

Any idea of the elevation where the good snow starts?

We got the rain in the valley bottom and part way up. We had a big rain event in town on Saturday through Sunday. At that time the freezing level would have been around 5000'. The storm that came on Tuesday dumped snow all the way up with much more in the higher elevations. It was very skinny in the valley bottom. I should have taken the time to dig a pit and I would have known for sure what the snow pack was like in reality. I had enough opportunity with the amount of stucks we had just never did it.

Not Sure
Friends that live on the ski hill are reporting it rained hard and rained high and then froze up. Guess the Griz is teasing.
