well i went and took out a new Etec Summit Everest 154 800...I know the X has a better gauge, shocks, and colors but is the X worth the extra money...Dealer was saying alot of ppl buy the Everest and replace the shocks with a fox float because the HPG shocks just because there rebuildable are still pricey to do..So is the X worth the extra money? Thanks

To me it was worth it. I plan on swapping out the shocks anyways. Ni also like the gauge better on the x. Hpg shocks might be worth a bit more on resale or as back ups. N

I don't think it is. Most people are going to mod it to make it their own anyway. Decal kit, after market suspension, windshield, etc.... The only thing I would want from the "X", is the gauges.

I bought an everest because I have a bad problem with modding things. I'm not sure what the difference in price is between the 2 models but I feel the extra money could be spent elsewhere.

um, think i picked it up dec 11th or something

any X or Freeride at a dealer had to of been snow checked by an individual, each one should have a rebate attached to it, and the extra warranty or electric start i think. inquire with the dealer to see if they are holding out on you.

the dealer told me all they have was the Everest,so debating on either selling my 09 and taking at Everest or wait and snowcheck one.

I ended up picking up a 2011 summit x 154 for 14750 OTD including spare belt plugs and jug of oil. When I was quoted on the everest it was 14500otd

I used to always snow check and pay full boat for the X. The last couple of years I've just waited until mid December and bought X models that people have backed out of. This year I got the 2011X 154 for $11,500 out the door. No tax, no shipping and no set up fees. 2 year warranty. The X is worth it if you can swing a deal but I totally agree that if you aren't wheeling and dealing you might as well by the Everest and put the difference in cast towards mods.

Back in 08 and 09 I believe the x was slightly lighter then the everest as well. Also had steel braided brake line vs rubber on the everest and was supposed to have a lighter brake rotor.

depending on when you are going to sell it, the x has a better resale as well

Well it will depend on the dealer, how long they can hold the sled.

The Everest e-Tec really does have decent shocks anyhow.
And the power on both models is phenominal.
Likely no X models to buy til Spring order program comes out, and delivery next fall.
