What has everybody heard about running ethanol gas is older sleds? Talking about sleds that have no reg or prem switch. I don't know if reg or prem switch has anything to do with ethanol gas, just with octane levels. Thanks

Ethanol = Detonation, Dont run ethanol if you can help it. I was running 94 octane premium from Mohawk and took out a piston, caused by detonation, The only thing we could come up with is the ethonal, I now have been running shell gas and have had 0 issues eversense. Hope this helps

I ran regular grade gas from Husky/Mohawk for years in a couple of older 600 cc sleds with no problems. Fill the gas tank when you get back to town to minimize the absorption of moisture overnight (frost) and you shouldn't have any trouble. Water absorption is supposed to be one of the biggest knocks against ethanol gasoline for 2 strokes as the water displaces the equivalent amount of fuel so you actually run lean.
