So which way are the plugs to be indexed? Open end of the spark plug to face the injector? How many degrees can it vary? And who sells the indexing washers to set it properly?

Long as it's 90 degrees on either side of the injector it should be fine. OEM plugs are pretty bang on if torqued to spec.

Yup if they are OEM should not need a index washer. You can check by marking the plug with a felt pen

I marked my new plugs just to make sure I knew where the electrode was. With both plugs torqued to spec the electrode is about 165° from the injector. Rather nice of them to engineer it that way for $22 per plug. Haha.

I marked mine and they were bang on. Maybe your dealer is hosing you and sold you the non indexed ones. As mentioned above, the open side need to be within 90 degrees of the injector. Did you try switching cylinders and see what happens?

You can out of index(90degrees) by up to 20 degrees 10 either way and it won't affect your sled in any way btw its a pain in the arse the first time you try this 5/8 plug socket with and end on the ratchet side that also excepts a 3/4 open end wrench is the trick not only mark the plug but mark the socket as well makes life a little easier 2 new tools added to the back pack
