looking for some help on changes to be made before i ride. i just moved back to ontario flat land from whistler and i brought back my 09 summit 800, now we getting bombed here with snow n i wanna get out riding but i am concered about the elevation difference in regards to jetting and such for the difference in elevation. i believe it is set up for 2-8000 ft now i wont even see the 2000 ft mark. anyone know what changes if any besides the clutching that i will have to do to save the sled from leaning out to much or running to rich. any input would be greatly appreciated...thanks

The DPM should take care of the jetting however you will likely need a bunch of pin weight or just adjust your clickers to keep from over revving as your sled will have a more power at the lower elevation. Looking into some Renegade clutching may help too.

perfect...i wasnt to sure if i would have had to install different jets or not. the clutching adjustment can be done pretty quickly. i guess dropping it 200 -400 top rpm will be a start???

You're going to want to take it for a ride to see where you're at. If you're revving out to 8100RPM right away you'll have to adjust your clickers until you can hit the throttle without over revving. If you can't achieve this with the clickers you'll have to put a couple more grams of pin weight in the primary. This should get you going. You may want to look at a gearing change for making incredible time out on the lake :D

As far as the jetting is concerned you shouldn't have a problem with leaning out but there may be a combination of carburetor settings that will make your sled run better at that specific altitude.

well i guess ill do thew clutch adjustments and see how that goes. i have a custom air intake kit that gives me all the extra space needed to do the carb adjustments if needed. with the new can and the intake kit made a big difference in throttle response so i definety dont wanna lose that low end torque. not really concerned about gaining 5-10 extra at top speed i like the powder riding at wot haha thanks for the input!!! ill try that out and see where it takes me
