Heard this on the news this morning - this is why we need to call 911 rather than take the law into our own hands - not worth dieing for a vehicle theft.

My thought and prayers are with this brave soul and his family today.

An innocent man who confronted a possible truck thief outside his north Edmonton home was almost murdered Wednesday night.

That's absolutely terrible...hopefully he makes a full recovery.

I wouldn't go out unless packin' a pistol, keep your distance and pull the trigger.

Yep, call the police they are only minutes away when seconds count.
We the sheeple shouldn't have to depend on cops who may or may not respond in time. We've been slowly pussified by succesive liberal governments to have to depend on a quasi-military group. It sad the laws are biased against self defence in this country.

If you are calling the cops, just tell them you "think" he may have a gun and you'll get waaaay quicker response. Or you can sit back and wait 2 hours which is the normal "we're real busy" wait time.

We should all be able to leave houses, cars, etc unlocked.

What is it that thinks people are entitled to help themselves to someone else's property.

Hope that guy gets better and I hope the next guy that this douche robs turns him into a pinata.

There are places in the world where people are forced to commit criminal acts in order to survive day to day life.....THIS IS CANADA.... we have one of the most complex over funded social welfare systems in the world THERE IS NO EXCUSE. few people should ever want for the basics of life (yes I know some fall thru the cracks but many are there of their own devices)

Based on our social structure our Justice system should be one of the most intolerant. the punishment should deter future criminal activity...Problem is most criminals never do receive incarceration and those who do take the opportunity to network with other criminals and hone thier skills.

Everyone is all hung up on the civil rights of the convicts....far as I'm concerned for the duration of their sentance they have forfitted those rights and liberties... If you want the same rights and liberties as the rest of us OBEY THE LAW, quite simple actually.

We have tens of thousands of able bodied criminals who's food, clothing and shelter is paid for by our tax dollars, I think it's only fair we should get some bennifit from those dollars. There is any number of public services which could be taken care of..... oh but what about the ones who pose a danger to society you ask????????? what do we do with agressive animals????? BINGO

I would take great pride in living in a country that does not take chit from anyone.........

First emotions when you hear of such an event usually lean this direction, but consider for a moment. This isn't the USA. You shoot the A$$hole, you go to jail......period. He survives or maybe he doesn't, but either way, you're screwed for the rest of your life. It's a truck...... no doubt being violated by some lazy, $hit licking little SOB would pi$$ a guy off but not worth destroying your life over. Keep your vehicles and toys insured and keep confrontations distant. Ask this poor bugger if he'd handle the situation the same way next time it should happen. Bottom line is Canada needs a complete re-structuring of our our GUTLESS Justice system.... I use that term lightly!
